I live in Perth and have been searching for TLS/Translucent Liquid Sculpey. Does anyone know of anywhere that sells TLS? I know Spotlight sell Sculpey brand clay, but my local doesn't have TLS, and Jacksons only sell FIMO.

There aren't a great deal of craft stores that sell clay down my end, but if I have to, I'll go where I need to. I haven't called around anywhere, yet, but I decided to ask those who may know first.

Thanks for any help,

EDIT: No one in Perth sells it, so I will have to resort to online purchases, thanks for the help ^___^

Knitting Needle Holder/RollNot sure how many knitters there are on here, but I thought I'd throw this out there anyway. I have a freebie up for grabs on CraftBlog.com.au, it's a knitting needle holder/roll to store your needles, just head on over the the blog and leave a comment to go into the draw :)

And if you don't win there's also a tutorial on how to make your own here.

Thanks guys, and feel free to pimp this wherever you like, it's open for entries worldwide, not just Australia, and the deadline is the 10th of August. I'd like to promote it in a knitting comm as well, but I honestly don't know where to start looking through the list of them, so if anyone has a suggestion for a good knitting comm, let me know.

Hey everyone,

I've just set up a craft related blog for Aussies at http://craftblog.com.au, at the moment it's just a baby (with a big lean towards sewing projects as that's my main medium) but I'm hoping it will grow and really take off :D

I'm looking for contributors to represent pretty much any craft out there, so if you're interested in blogging, either once off or as an ongoing thing, and getting a bit more exposure for your store or website then please contact me and let me know. I now have several knitters signed up to write so we're pretty much covered for that, but everything else is open for the taking!

And if you're not interested in writing, just check out the site and let me know your thoughts, suggestions and feedback are really appreciated. I would really love for this to be a news hub for Australia based crafters, right now it's kind of like my baby ;)

Hey All ! :)

I just recently started carfting and messing around with clay, candles, paper and more and I think I found myself a new hobby! I just love it!

This website has great instructional videos on the subject and it helped a begginer like me, so I guess it can do the same for others and even for more experienced crafters as well.

I am writing to you to see if you are interested in holding a stall at the next warehouse party in Stafford St, Collingwood.

Saturday 15th March from 3pm

$5 gets you a stall/space.:

artists, badgemakers, writers, kitschy retro..whatever you like!

There will be bands playing, there will be a market, there will be mask making and mural painting, there will be DJs, there will hopefully not be a noise pollution fine. But otherwise it will be as damn fun as the last ones, and if you came to those, you know what to expect.

(obligatory facebook link)

We'll also hire some tables and try for plenty of light-I'll make sure personally of that.

Bands so far confirmed:

ouch my face
the females
surf surf surf
smoking hot bitch

So...let me know what you think and feel free to spread the word so we can get lots of people there

ps- contact me here or email me ms.cate[at]gmail.com

I love making art and craft things, and I have a few pretty big projects currently in mind, however I'm not ultimately rich so I can't afford to make them at retail prices ^^; Just wondering if there are any wholesalers in melbourne that you guys can reccommend (and yes I do have an ABN which I can use to order from them with);

I'm after plastic beads (the bright and colorful kind, plain like pony beads, AND shaped into animals and whatnot) elastic cord for putting the beads on, and a ton of wool (just normal boring wool) for an unrelated project.

I've searched google and found heaps of wholesalers of beads, but none of them seem to want to wholesale plastic beads. I looked at eBay, and there was a seller with some pretty big bulk lots for wholesale prices, but they looked extremely dodgey, what with 30 mutually removed feedbacks, and a couple of negatives telling the seller not to try blackmail buyers, and a bunch more negatives saying 'never received item' or 'item was not as described'

Anyway - I'd rather somewhere in melbourne so I can go there and look at what I'm getting instead of relying on photos, it's a tad hard to judge size with a photo. Plus I'd save on postage.

And what is it with wool wholesalers anyway? I just want standard plain one colour wool made of sheep hair (or cotton or something synthetic that looks the same as regular wool) and all they seem to offer is fancy-shmancy wool with 5 colours, irregular thickness and made from some poor bunny or goat... or llama.

I promise I'll post pictures when I'm done : D

Shameless promotion time again!

Require a break? Feeling unsatisfied in your humdrum weekly routine? Feeling artsy fartsy? Chill out with The Knittee Committee!

We go to cafes, libraries, homes, colleges and other places of suitability to chill out and learn and teach knitting.

Knitters of all experiences, ages, genders, species welcome (providing you can hold knitting needles really). Having a pattern and equipment of your own would be a good idea for meetings, but we cool to just chill out if you don't have any current projects. Eat, drink and be merry, that sort of thing.

Visit us at our online branches:
Details of our meetings are published as soon as they are planned, the next one being Saturday the 2nd of February. Friend us to find out more!

x-posted in some Brisbane groups :)

Thought this quote might strike a chord with a lot of artists and crafters out there:

Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.
-Leo Buscaglia

I think you don't even have to be religious to get this quote. You know, if you have a talent, or are passionate about being creative, then you have an obligation, or something like that, to use it. To see where it goes? To give back to the world? I dont know. You just have to.

Well that's my deep & meaningful for the day anyhow.
